so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught

My Daily Prayers and Readings for 12/01/2012

Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

< >< My Prayer >< >

Abba Father the Christmas r or l season is upon us; let this Christmas be all about the story of Christ, the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Open our hearts and minds by renewing the wonder and awe of a child free of the doubt and corruption of life under the sun. I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ who lives within me through the Holy Spirit so that You would create in me a pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within me, for my one walk in and with You. That You will show and teach me how to be a channel of Your peace and love in all situations with all people. That You will help me be strong in You and Your almighty power, putting on Your full armor by standing firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one who lurks in each moment waiting to separate me from You. Taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. And praying in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, being alert and always praying for all the Your people, me and mine in fulfillment of Your will. That whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. (r or l) Reminding me that if I get nothing else done this day, let me spend it loving You and others first, as You love me. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen. .
